Attachment and Trauma Counseling

Helping children, teens, and adults heal from trauma and build healthy attachments.

Life's challenges can feel dark, heavy, or even impossible to deal with. Most people who struggle with trauma feel that it's difficult for them to form and maintain healthy relationships and emotional bonds with others. They might fear they are not good enough or find it hard to trust and feel safe with others.

With the right support, you can build resilience, form meaningful connections, and move toward a brighter, more fulfilling future. Therapy offers a safe space to explore feelings and develop the skills needed for personal growth.

Signs that you or someone you love might be struggling with attachment or trauma-related issues.

  • Experiences intense fear when separated from a safe person.

  • Trouble expressing feelings and often bottles them up.

  • Intense anxiety or panic attacks that interfere with daily life.

  • Struggles with changes in routine and feels easily overwhelmed.

  • Hurts self as a way to cope with emotional pain.

  • Express feelings of hopelessness.

  • Strong need to control situations or people.

  • Overly suspicious of others and show signs of mistrust.

  • Often have nightmares about scary events and wake up frightened.

  • Experiences flashbacks, reliving a past traumatic event.

  • Struggles to manage emotions, leading to outbursts or withdrawal.

  • Uses substances to escape feelings.

Therapy Can Help!

These reactions to attachment issues and trauma are common, but therapy can help you heal and grow.

If you notice these signs, it may be time to schedule time with a therapist. In therapy, you learn to overcome challenges and move toward a more peaceful life.

Learn to:

  • Identify, manage, and express emotions healthily.

  • Build and maintain trust in relationships.

  • Set healthy boundaries.

  • Assertively communicate needs, feelings, and thoughts.

  • Manage stress, anxiety, and trauma triggers.

  • Integrate past trauma into their lives.

  • Cultivate self-worth with kindness.

Even if you’re unsure whether their issues are serious enough for help, therapy can still make a difference. I have successfully guided many young people facing attachment and trauma issues, helping them build self-trust, confidence, and a stronger sense of self.
